Alan Ripa Web Art Gallery / "Metal Desert" 36" X 48"

The "Paint Melting" technique was used to create this painting that was completed in 2005. This is the painting that Alan first discovered his "Paint Melting" technique. Using a lot of metallic paint gives this painting a very unusual look. Because of the additional colors that are random throughout the painting gives the appears that you are looking down from a birds eye view of the desert. The title of "Metal Desert" seemed appropriate for what this painting represents. When overhead lighting is on this painting, several images appear in the background that were not Alan's intentions or focus when this painting was being created. Why do these additional images keep appearing in his paintings? Nobody Knows.... but it is pretty cool!
